Hello friends,
Wishing each one comfort and unity during these seemingly chaotic times. And while uncomfortable and destabilizing as it may feel, these days just may offer more insight of what appears to be coming to an end, and hope for what is on the horizon, if we choose. With any endings come new beginnings, a time for co-creating a world filled with more love, unity, and compassion for all mankind – we are at the precipice of a new age dawning.
Many are feeling the gamut of emotions from anxiety, overwhelm, angry, sad, depressed while others are are celebrating and feeling very differently when listening to and seeing various world events play out before our own eyes and ears but first I would like to offer for each one of us to just pause, take some deep breaths and take a step back. Begin by focusing on what’s happening in your immediate world, your circle, your family and friends, at this very moment, NOW, right before you, in this Moment. We are guaranteed only this moment I am aware of and living – no future moments than the one you are in, right now. What are you looking at, smelling, feeling, touching, hearing, what beauty surrounds you, what are you listening to? This is what’s happening right now in your world, nothing else, for this moment. Come back to as many times, over and over. How does that feel? For me, this is calming.
Just like any other person, I too, feel the same kinds of things we are all experiencing, even overwhelmed at times, and may lose track and get caught up in…(you name it) until I’m reminded of my personal practice of what am I allowing into my mind, how am I feeding and nourishing it? That keen awareness usually creeps in when I begin to feel anxious, frustrated, or uncertain, and I know it’s time for me to take a step back, pause, and breathe. Because the awareness of your breath will always bring you back into the moment. When one becomes aware of their breathing, breathing in and out, in and out, one can not be elsewhere in their mind except with their breath, breathing in and breathing out. As this calms my being, I am then able to ask myself if my thoughts are supporting or bringing my spirit down? And why would I want to suffer anymore by staying with thoughts that may be bringing me down?
Doesn’t mean I bury my head in the sand either.
I continue to breathe. And take one moment at a time.
With these practices it often helps me to understand what may be happening on a larger scale to offer as a personal perspective which may bring some greater hope and understanding, possibly.
These events may come as a huge surprise to many as we watch them; however, this really isn’t the first time in history we have been here on the world stage. All great empires (during their reign) eventually end mostly because those actions and ideologies come to pass; however, as a young America, this is OUR first time experiencing a very dramatic ending, where seemingly old paradigms will cease to exist. As a young country, America is often said to be inexperienced compared to the rest of the world, where other regions and governments have experienced multiple, and extreme endings. All one has to do is remember Germany, Africa (ongoing), South Africa, the Middle East, and others in recent history. And now here we are in America, typically, either feeling very uncomfortable or very comfortable, depending on one’s circumstances. We are getting to experience, and have through our country’s inception is the multiple growing pains of inequality, inequity, discrimination, misogyny, sexism, and so much more…these aren’t new traits by any means just being seen at the forefront and center of our lives. Our own microcosm of lives extends outward. What we may be seeing and hearing is not new news by any means since even in our own small worlds we have been feeling comfortable or not as much…pick the setting of choice.
Maybe, this is a time we are being called individually, and collectively to action. Maybe these events are causing one to ask where do I/we stand in all those matters of injustice, inequality, since they’ve never truly been absent or entirely rectified in our historical, Piscean Age, but as we’ve been moving into the Aquarian age most notably feeling from mid November 2024, when Pluto entered Aquarius and remains until 2044, this may provide a great time of reflection and action as we are being shown some dark truths about ourselves, and as a nation. Remember, even ancient philosophers and innovators looked to the stars for greater meaning and answers to the complexities of their time.
So might we take this opportunity, as a gift from the cosmos, from our ancestors, from God, source, all the angels, and our guardian angels to look deeper? To go within and ask, Who am I? While the act of questioning has often been relegated to philosophers and people interested in more profound, deeper truths to debate and answer, I believe, these questions no longer be relegated to other circles, to be answered by someone else since answers always lie within ourselves if we take the time to stop and listen. How might we personally begin to inquire and be curious about our very own Being, our worth, and how that extended worthiness may or may not be exemplified outward, unto others? This may be a time to challenge everything we ever thought to be true, ask ourselves if we are open to unlearning what we thought was true, might we also begin to embrace our own shadows (the things we have pushed away, things we didn’t like about or in ourselves) because the cosmos are helping and supporting us to ask, if not demanding it, for our own souls’ purpose.
And with any purposeful work comes a time of acknowledgement to ourselves, by admitting and saying, “I am this….(fill in the blank)” since we exhibit and encompass everything in the field of emotions – the very thing(s) we continue to push down and away will only surface and resurface in our lives again and again until we acknowledge, bring to the light, see and appreciate the gift offered so as to bring balance and understand the goodness it provided. Bringing forth from the dark so light may shine upon like a seedling bursting up through the ground to be seen. This act provides profound healing while also creating a symbiotic partnership between masculine and feminine energies.
Since most societies have been driven by patriarchal systems / institutions (church, family, work, health, money, education, etc., ) created predominately by masculine driven energy (reminder, every human being is made up of both energies, this doesn’t mean a woman is pure feminine or a man pure masculine – each exhibit both masculine and feminine energies, together but rely or express stronger energetic pulls in one direction or another) and as a society we have leaned into and been far more comfortable in the masculine energy for centuries (Piscean Age) because often seen as a sign of strength. It too offers incredible gifts when in balance, everything must be in balance.
So while not a time to bury our heads and rely upon another system, institution, or perceived savior, might we continue with our own self-exploration and discovery of self, what it means to be a human being, aside from the physical, and in doing so, in part, maybe understand any one type of energy alone cannot sustain itself, it too becomes exhausted as other empires and patriarchs succumbed to their demise because of dominate masculine energy not working in partnership with feminine energy. Sadly, no benefit ultimately in celebrating masculine energy alone because in its very deprivation of suppressing, or oppressing his feminine energy only leads to ultimate demise. When feminine energy is ignored, shunned, or buried, we all lose out on her influence of free thinking, creativity, intuition, nurturance, and connectedness. Masculine and feminine energies are a partnership to the other, one cannot exist without the other – they must co-exist in balance and wholeness towards a brighter future, and this truly exists within each one of us.
Maybe we are experiencing and in the midst of a surrender or releasing of the old in order to welcome the new, all happening simultaneously. As with any masculine energy dominating and not in balance, endings can get pretty ugly and messy. But don’t let it fool you into not believing we are also co-creating, celebrating both energies emergence, together. That with a balanced shared partnership of respect for what both energies offer we are co-creating, and laying the foundation for this new age upon us. A new territory, never experienced, known as the Age of Aquarius – which is represented symbolically as the feminine energy and of water – just as the planet earth is our home covered in water, offering us life – life-giving, So too are our bodies, magically made up of water and energy. How might we offer life and giving to others as our planet does for us?
Hopefully these perspectives and various terms haven’t been off putting or make one stop reading because of certain religious, societal beliefs, or even from previous family opposition, dissuading such terms but instead offer up more curiosity and questions to ask. While these are some of my perspectives and perceptions, even shared by others, they are based upon my experiences using historical, scientific, and philosophical information because of my curiosity and willingness to be open – to potentially offer another understanding of why and where we are in history at this moment – that where we are didn’t happened overnight. However, while we see what may not be serving humanity we are simultaneously building and laying the foundation for all Beings to thrive, benefit, and be celebrated, equally and abundantly.
Historically, when a cross road appears, and this one is magnificent, being the dawn of a new age (again, we are in uncharted territory for those of us alive today – we are the new explorers, the bridgebuilders, the torch bearers of light in this new world emerging) – where it may seem most dark, uncertain, scary, unjust, unfair, ALL of it is rearing its head to ask humanity, Is this how we want to treat each other, see and be towards each other, to ourselves, or might we begin to see one another as the light being and souls we truly are? As the true spiritual, energetic being beyond the physical body with so many labels attributed towards color, sex, gender, hair, skin, race, the list goes on…to divide but what if we chose to quit focusing on the outward and truly felt and saw what’s inside.
After all we are spiritual beings having a physical experience as the saying goes. The physical (material) body will always die, so shall this humanly shell we reside in – this very body we inhabit – this earthly vehicle allowing one to love, grow, learn, and experience joy in this most amazing experience called life, will end. However, our spiritual body will go on living because energy never dies it only changes form. So how might we grow ourselves in this time and show up for one another without constant othering and place our focus on each other’s soul and what it has to offer. That’s where the light is. My hope and wish.
